ABOUT THE POSITION

The Principal Software Verification Test Engineer is the technical test leader for product software verification and validation testing. Responsible for the software verification plans, software verification procedures, and/or software verification test cases in compliance with EaglePicher Software Development Process.

Responsible for the execution of all test cases and review of test results to identify issues with software product deliverables and ensure problem report analysis / resolution delivers a quality product.

Contributes verification testing advice and coaching to software engineers in formal technical review meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Hands-On Leader of the software verification test team(s) for customer software products including Battery Management Systems (BMS) and Energetics.
  • Establishes the Test Management Process for the product deliverables in compliance with the EaglePicher Software Development Process.
  • Create software verification plans and software test plans.
  • Perform software verification testing against software requirement specifications.
  • Perform software validation testing against user interface manuals.
  • Ensure all software tools are validated, qualified, and tracked for changes. Meet DO-330 for Airborne Systems.
  • Review software requirements (High-Level Requirements) specifications for compliance with product requirements standard and testability.
  • Review software design (Low-Level Requirements) documents for compliance with product design standard and testability.
  • Review and approve all test result data from completed test cases.
  • Actively participates in Change Control Boards (CCB) and Defect Review Boards (DRB).
  • Identify efficient, cost effective test tool solutions for robust test coverage.
  • Ensure 100% requirements test coverage and structural coverage for DO-178C Level A software.
  • Supports and develops software engineers by providing test advice and coaching in technical reviews.
  • Participate in safety and cybersecurity risk analysis.
  • Part of the annual review/maintenance of the EaglePicher software development process.
  • Protects customer and corporate operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Ensures all software test team members maintain their tool training requirements.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art software test tools (automation), testing techniques, and efficient test processes by enrolling in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics Preferred
  • U.S. Persons
  • Four years of experience as Senior Software Verification Test Engineer
  • Experience in Test Management Tools
  • Experience in Embedded System Testing
  • Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies)
  • Experience in a safety regulated industry (Ex. DO-178C, DO-330)
